Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which I provide psychological services. By booking an appointment, you are agreeing to these terms.

I provide psychological assessment and therapy to adults, and consultation and related services to organisations. The specific aims and approach will be discussed and agreed with you at the start of our work together and reviewed as needed.

Individual therapy sessions usually last 1 hour, unless otherwise agreed.
The frequency and number of sessions will be agreed between us and may be reviewed over time.

Current fees are as detailed on the website.
You will receive an invoice by email after each session (or at an agreed interval).
Payment is due by bank transfer within 48 hours of receiving the invoice unless otherwise agreed.
Bank details for payment will be provided on the invoice.
If payment is not received within this timeframe, I may pause further sessions until the balance is settled.

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please give at least 48 hours’ notice.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice, or non-attendance without notice, may be charged at the full session fee.
Exceptions may be made in rare circumstances (for example, sudden illness or emergency), at my discretion.
Psychological therapy is most effective when appointments are attended consistently. If you are unable to attend regularly, this will be something for us to discuss during a session.

What you share in sessions is treated as confidential, unless you provide explicit consent for information to be shared with a third party (for example a carer, loved one or other health professional).
In exceptional circumstances, I may need to break confidentiality without your consent if: there is a serious and immediate risk of harm to you or someone else, there are safeguarding concerns about a child or vulnerable adult, or I am required to do so by law or a court order. Where feasible, I will aim to discuss this with you first.
I may discuss aspects of our work in supervision, in line with regulatory obligations, to ensure safe and effective practice.

I keep brief clinical notes and relevant contact details in line with professional and legal requirements.
Records are stored securely and retained for the period recommended by professional guidelines before being securely destroyed.

Sessions may be offered in person or online.
You are responsible for ensuring you have a private, quiet space and a stable internet connection for online sessions.
Please do not record sessions without prior discussion and written agreement.

I do not provide an emergency or crisis service.
If you are in crisis or feel at immediate risk, please contact your GP, NHS 111, emergency services (999), or attend your local Accident & Emergency department. You can also contact Samaritans on 116 123.

If you have any concerns about the service, please raise them with me in the first instance so we can try to resolve the issue together.
If you remain dissatisfied, you may be able to raise a complaint with my professional body or relevant regulatory organisation. Details can be provided on request.

I am registered with the appropriate UK professional bodies as detailed on this website and work in line with their ethical and professional standards.
I will inform you if there are any changes to my registration or ability to practise that may affect our work.

I may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
Any significant changes that affect your rights or obligations will be discussed with you and, where appropriate, confirmed in writing.
